Inside a Camellia bud

Post by Charles Krebs »

These flowers still have a way to go, but they're getting ready for this spring.

I "opened" a bud under my stereo microscope and decided to try a few shots. I very rarely use the stereo for photography since (at least with mine) the fine detail just is not rendered as well as with a larger aperture optic. But I do like the image possibilities so I'll probably "explore" a few more with some other gear.

Still very beautiful. Is this a trinocular stereo scope?

Mitch,
Is this a trinocular stereo scope?
Yes. This is what it looks like...(but I do not have a ring light, this is a Nikon "stock photo"... not my actual scope).
