Campanella umbellaria (images added)

Post by RogelioMoreno »

Here is a set of Campanella umbellaria, this specimen is a beauty, with each shoot you get a surprise image.

All of them with Nikon TE300 microscope, Plan Apo 20x/0.75 objective, DIC, flash and Canon T3i mounted on the TE300 front port.

Wow Rogelio,

You have done it again. Spectacular. You are truly getting the most out of you DIC optics and your 20/0.75. These are beautiful shots. How parfocal is your T3i with your eyepiece view?

Beautiful again. That X20 0.75 is a very very fine lens indeed. :)

The front port of the TE300 came with the Nikon SLR adapter, it make any Nikon SLR parfocal with the eyepiece view; I added a NIkon to Canon adapter. My Canon T3i is complety parfocal with the eyepiece view. The TE300 binocular head has position for Open, Magnification, Closed and Bertrand; the bertrand is useful for checking the back focus plane of the objetives, the M position is very useful when you want to focus very fine details (like the cilias of the Campanella).

I agree with you, I am very very happy with my Nikon Plan Apo 20x/0.75 objective. Few days ago I received my Nikon Plan Apo 40x/0.95, I am testing it and if I get decent images (to my like) with it then I will post them.

Thank you for your comments.

More beautiful shots Rogelio. The flash really brings out the cilia. I do not think they would be as sharp without flash.

Mitch,

To get the cilias sharp you need flash.

Rogelio. Excellent DIC imagery. Are all the images of the subject in the same orientation or do some show it turned over? Such a shame it cannot be seen in its entirety.

Here more images of the Campanella.

On the following picture you can see part of the wall from where the cilias come out (amazing the details that DIC shows):

On the following picture you can see the subject as Telotroch:

The following is a Telotroch from other subject that I was not lucky to get good pictures of the cilias:
