The lorica of the marine ciliate Xystonellopsis sp. was 400 (!) µm long.
(I think it is X. treforti. Is this right?).

Hi Franz,

great photos as usual.

I agree with your ID, but not with the name ...if that makes any sense!

You have it in the wrong genus. It should be Xystonella treforti. Xystonella and Xystonellopsis are closely related genera with similar looking tintinnids.
