To grow a culture, I boil lentils and wheat seeds. Then I wait that the liquid cools down. After I put ciliates inside. Few days after you have sometimes many ciliates species, but generally one or two gained the upper hand. This time it was Spirostomum.
When you have a clear culture, it is easy to have them during many monthes. You just have to make again boiled water with seeds.
