Actinosphaerium and Acanthocystis

Post by Linden.g »

I collected a water sample from a local spring in one of my favorite collections sites. It showed numerous examples of both species. Taken with Olympus BH-2 fitted with acromats and flash DIC, apart from the obveous darkfield.

Beautiful work Linden. It's hard to imagine that these are alive.

Thanks Mitch, I love the spines of glass and the way the beads of liquid move along them.

Linden,
