Pau, I just tried your suggestions. I have been able to get DF with the 10x by using the 0 mark, or BF. I just tried it with the PH3 and that worked also. But I have never gotten a DF or a good oblique effect with the 20x Plan APO or any of my other lenses.

The 0 stop is a BF stop with an iris in it, and I have not tried adjusting that yet. I'll do that later today. It is far too small for me to build a Rheinburg filter for it though, about big enough to stick the tip of your first finger in it. Maybe there is a size of those ready made plastic ones that will fit. :)

Really nice Mitch. I especially like the pattern butterfly wing scales (#4).

The NA of your 20X Plan Apo is a probably a little too high to get darkfield via a "stop".... you would really need a dedicated darkfield condenser (with the proper specifications) for that one. But you should be able to get very nice oblique with the method Pau described.

Thanks Charles. I can get a pretty decent Oblique from the 20x Plan Apo using the zero stop on the condenser. I have never been a fan of darkfield for some reason though. I guess it's like Phase Contrast, it only looks good on the right subject. :)
