A beetle belonging to the family Buprestidae. Overall, not as exotically colorful as some of the other "jewel beetles", but under the eye and on the pronotum there are some wonderful iridescent "metallic" textures.

Pau,
Keep in mind that this is not one of the original Olympus infinity objectives... MSPlan or Neo SPlan... which were used with corrective eyepieces and the NFK photo-eyepieces. This UMPlanFL 5/0.15 is in this newer UIS group. The color was very "clean" using the Nikon 200mm tube lens. Olympus calls their "U-FL" objectives "Universal Semi-Apochromat" and this one certainly does appear to have much better overall color correction than an achromat. Since the Olympus tube-lens is 180mm and the Nikon is 200mm I actually had a slightly higher magnification... 5.5X magnification rather than 5X.
I got this objective used, at a very modest price. It had some scratches on the front element and I nearly returned it. But it does make a very nice image! . So I kept it.
A piece of Lee diffusion material placed around the front of the objective and two of the Ikea JANSJÖ lights. I find continuous light to be a big help setting up shots with subjects where iridescence provides most of the color since a slight change in the position of the light can make a very big difference.- What illumination setup did you use?
That does appear to be the case for the UIS and UIS2 objectives, both from my experience and from this UIS brochure clip:- So definitively Olympus infinites don't need corrections in the tube lens/eyepieces?
