I have the impression that the winter is the time for the diatoms. The first time I find now Eucampia sp. I dont know the name of the species. Maybe it is E. cornuta?

well, early spring is best, but the autumn/winter turbulence brings nutrients/silica back into the water column, supporting diatom growth.
Your images pretty much resemble the forms in our waters, which is E. zodiacus.
I have never seen E cornuta, but girdle bands should be visible in water mounts for this species.
Best wishes, René
