Chironomus (a midge larva)

Post by Jan l'Amie »

Three pictures of the Chironomus midge larva.
The first one is a stack of 12 pictures with CombineZP.
The second one is a picture with an oblique light / Rheinberg filter.
I couldn't make a better picture of the tail because it was constantly moving.

Nice images Jan. I found one of these awhile back. Fascinating to watch, with those knitting needle horns up front. :)
