Dogfish (Scyliorhinus canicula) skin

Image
Microscope: Zeiss Standard
Ocular: Zeiss KPL-W 10/18
Objective: Zeiss 1.6/0.03 - 5/0.1 Plan
Incident light (tungsten filament)
18 images/Zerene Stacker 1.04

From an old slide in my collection. It is a dry mount in a covered cell and unfortunately the coverglass has a lot of adhering dust on the underside which required careful attention in Zerene to try and edit out the worst of it...

Though we lean upon the same balustrade, the colours of the mountain are different.

Very nice. The vein-like pattern on the scales is fascinating.

Very interesting. Those must be veins?
