Always nice to compare living diatoms with their prepared, mounted cousins. The detail in the Nitzschia in particular is excellent.

Hello Chris,
Very nice but...
The 2 and 3 is a Navicula radiosa
The las one seems to be bacillaria paxilifer... but not sure

Dominique, thank you for your help with identification. I enclose additional images of diatoms that seemed to me Pinnularia and Nitzschia. I think it's easier to identify whole objects at lower magnification.

Thanks Chris,
Yes its easier to have the two sizes for a better identification, so
Navicula oblonga for the firts one and Nitzschia sigmoîdea in division for the second.
About Nitzschia, here is a single form
