A microscopic pine-tree?

A microscopic pine-tree?

This is one of the strangest objects I have seen under the microscope, the sample came from a water reservoir, some of you have any idea what it is?

3 photos:

1) 176X obj 20 LOMO additional zoom from trinocular head 1,1X
2) 256X obj 20 LOMO additional zoom from trinocular head 1,6X
3) 400X obj 20 LOMO additional zoom from trinocular head 2,5X

all 10X eyepiece

Could well be a "needle" or so called spiculum or spicule from a fresh water sponge. The spicula or spicules are the mineral component of a sponge's skeleton.
