Water boatman legs

Post by Charles Krebs »

Had a couple of water boatman show up in the backyard a couple of days ago. Only did one "body" shot: http://www.krebsmicro.com/forumpix/0470-0569.jpg

But I did spend some time with the legs under the microscope. A favorite subject of mine.

It is a great subject for abstract compositions. Very beautiful and perfect images. They have a nice rythm.

That's amazing! I guess the hairs were really challenging in terms of stacking, I always hate them... unless they look good like in your pics

#3 looks like some rather nice Gucci leatherwork with handstitched edges :)
Super images but I'm a biit lost on the scale. Do you remember what they would have been?

I would like to know the objectives used.

Crazy good! Those last ones must be at 100x or more magnification surely?

All superb Charles. The very last is my favorite, I don't know what it is with me and brightfield/denser subjects/ higher mag, but I love the shading of light and colour.
