Hi Ken, I might be wrong but I think I once read that Arcellas start out with clear tests and as they get older they absorb some sort of mineral which makes them darker in color. Have you heard that?
In that case I found an archaeic one the other day it was very dark brown indeed, and I didnt get my normally wonderful colour show with a darkfeild condenser either.
