I can't tell you what the algae is - there is not much to be seen :wink:

These spikes look like a fungus to me - not related to the algae on the right.

Thank you both for your comments. My initial impression was that of one of the Coleochaetaceae.

Coleochaete looks like this one: http://www.dr-ralf-wagner.de/Bilder/Col ... ris-HF.jpg . I don`t think that this hits. For me it is looking more like some kind of Chaetophora: http://www.dr-ralf-wagner.de/Bilder/Cha ... fTeich.jpg . Here the spike are known to belong to the algae.
