Paramecium caudatum - DIC, Darkfield

Post by Chris_M »

Paramecium caudatum

First two videos show action of cilia.
To make cilia more clearly be seen, a drop of water with paramecium was mixed with gelatine solution in order to slow down movement.

Excellent video. At 100x he is his own little universe.

Nice! The 100X video is impressive. Can I ask what was used to record the video? I am finding that with the 100X objective and video I barely have enough light to get decent results.

Very nice videos!

I would like to know the camera that you used for the videos.

Thank you all,

Charles, Rogelio,
as a light source in my microscope is standard light bulb 15W 6V. Camera was the same as last time (Panasonic FX60).
Actually, all my videos are little grainy (especially with objective 100x). It's not clearly visible due to Youtube compression.
