Fungi

Post by gpmatthews »

Earlier today I took a stroll to the local nature reserve and met with one of the members of the reserve's Friends Group who is a keen amateur mycologist. We had a most interesting walk around spotting fungi.

I am told this one is a species of Oysterling, possibly, Bitter Oysterling, Panellus stipticus:

This is the upper side, using a stack of 13 images.

Though we lean upon the same balustrade, the colours of the mountain are different.

Some pretty nice photographs there Graham :D . Are you going to try and get a spore print, maybe take a look at them and get a photograph or two using the transmitted light microscope? Something that I have always ment to do but have never done myself. :-k
