This guy is really cool to watch. On lower power magnification, he appears to be vibrating quite fast. When you look closer, he seems to be moving, but he isn't going anywhere. He has one long flagella, a whip, that he is cracking all around him. From these shots, you can see his red eye, which only tells him which direction the light is coming from. As amazing as all that is, he also has an inner and outer shell, and what at first looked like vibration, was the inner stuff, twirling around separate from the outer shell. There is a small hole in the outer Lorica that allows the eye and whip connected to the outside to function.

Evey time I look through my microscope, I am left with more questions than I had when I whipped off it's dust cover.

Thanks for looking Grant. Ya know, he was using it too, but he wasn't going anywhere. Can't quite figure out why though. I have sure learned a lot about these guys since finding it though. :)
