Where did you find the egg? It looks at least as large as the shell of the animal and from that second to last shot, it looks flexible.

I have lot's of these guys in my aquarium, but have not found an egg.

This water sample was teeming with Colpoda and there were many eggs or cysts? present. This one had a lot of action so I stayed to see what would happen.
