Hi Dominique,

I think they are dividing. The old one -'the mother'- to the left builds a new theca. The older one is more dark, the newborn is less dark.

Bonjour!

Nice find. Is there any connection between the time of year and all these amoeba dividing?

Difficult to say, Mitch. It is wintertime now and I suspect most members are scanning through old samples which are likely at room temperature. At the moment all the waters here are frozen, but in my jars there is a lot of activity.

Ah, it didn't click that some of these are old images. Still, the idea is good. If the divisions are tied to time of year, it might tell something. :)
