Stentor Jets Away - Video

A Stentor attached to some stuff in the water, and when I started recording, he detached and jetted away. He started out slow, but within less than his own body length, he zoomed off so fast I could not follow him and it took me minutes to find him again. The video shows him attached and free swimming. I think the light from the condenser bothered him. Do they have eyes?

Neat capture Mitch. I never seen one detatch and swim away before.

Hi Walt. I have seen them free swimming before, but never caught the moment they detached. It was very alien looking.
