Interesting video Francisco. What are the flagella filaments coming off it?

Each of the 16 cells that form this colony has 2 flagella and a stigma. They reside together in a slime structure and somehow manage to coordinate their flagella movement.

It is interesting to see the vegetative reproduction. Each of the 16 cells in the colony starts to divide until after 4 cycles each cell has formed 16 new cells. During the process the original colony will break apart. I have found samples that contained 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16 new cells at the place of an original cell as the devision is not synchronized.

The cells form a 3D matrix that reminds of a crystal structure.
