Perhaps a bit strange to post the same organism but it could be interesting to see if it is the same species as Charlie's images. I thought I'd post them just to see if there are perhaps slight differences. Charlie, did your specimen come from the pacific? These were collected in the atlantic ocean. I could not make DIC images because I only had my Zeiss standard with me.

These sure do look close! Yes mine came from Puget Sound, I drag a small plankton net along a fishing pier in Seattle.
