A mucilaginous ball, diameter 220µ
Olympus BHS DIC 20x S Plan Apo + 1.25x intermediate lens + 2.5x relay lens, flash. 10 frames @ 2µ, ZS PMax.

I really like this shot. Algae are one thing I have not seen much of here, even since summer when I had liquid water to sample.

It looks more like Sphaerocystis to me. Here is a photo of Gloeocapsa I took in November.Image

Appears to be only 1 sp. in NA: S. schroeteri.
