I think the Genus is Coscinodiscus. But the species?
The alga had a diameter of 122 µm.
Objectiv 40x, DIC, stack with 7 pictures

Very nice indeed. It is a pleasure to see this diatom alive, as opposed to dead in an arranged mount.

Franz, I would say C. pavillardi. The slight donut shape of the valve (which you have so nicely stacked away) is essential for ID.
