Vorticella fluorescence filters..... video

Post by fpelectronica »

Hello
This video shows Vorticella with interspersed bright field illumination fluorescence filters.
These filters help attempt to show details not visible with conventional lighting
Filters have been used 400nm, 450nm, 510 nm and 570 nm

Francisco, is it your experience that the filters do help highlight the structure? I have tried it with my Fluophot after seeing your video, but can not really determine if it helps or not.

I wonder if using the filters, then correcting the image for White Balance would leave the detail while correcting the color.

Also, I have been wondering what you use to edit your video files and how you save them off the TV.

Hello Mitch:

I think filters could help to highlight some details that in brightfield could been unnoticed.

I haven't try to correct my videos with White Balance, all the videos are directly saved, with no corrections.

Software I use for my vids are: ARCalculator and Virtualdub.

Best regards,

Francisco.

You might want to check out this software. I have been using it for almost 10 years. It's cheap, but very powerful and easy to use and it can work with almost every format. :)
