Image No. 2

Leitz UO 6.5 X Achromat ULTROPAK objective
Diffused Fiber Optic illumination

Canon 50D
Zerene and Photoshop processing.

A new, hairier subject, again with purple colored retinas. The subject was larger than that in the post Spiders No. 17, but the lenses seem to be tighter against the body. Less inner detail is revealed.

Excellent detail here Walt. It may just be me, I don't have any experience with this kind of close up, but it looks like the spider can control the direction those eye lenses point?

Thanks Mitch. These eyes are somewhat differant than those of the jumping spiders that, per Riks referances, have movement. I would like to believe that they all have some control over at least some of them. Guess I have more reading to do!
