a femal polychaeta

Post by Franz Neidl »

I found this femal bristle worm (polychaeta) in the nocturnal plankton. It was 6 mm long (too long for my objectives!) and had many eggs in its body.

first picture: Obj. 4x, brightfield, projection eyepiece 2,5x
second picture: Obj. 10x, DIC; P.e. 2,5
third picture: Obj. 10x, DIC; p.e. 2,5x
fourth picture: Obj. 20x, DIC; p.e. 2,5x
fifth picture: Obj. 20x,DIC, p.e. 2,5x

Excellent detail and quite a worm. It even has a couple of broken off bristles.
