A Colony Of? Need ID Help

I have seen something like these posted, but can't find them again. Very interesting, but they did not move when I was watching.

All images shot with the Canon 1D3 through the trinocular port using EOS Utility.

Thanks for putting me on the right track again NU. After a long Google session, Opercularia seems to be the closest fit I can find in the image gallery.

I didn't see any cilia action and they look closed up, but I guess being sucked up in a pipette, then shot out again will do that.
