Parts are Parts...

 Remember the old chicken commercials? Well no '"nuggets" here, just trying to milk the most images I can out of this yellow jacket, using the Meiji.

Ocelli (center of image, three of them)
Sony DSC-W5 (attached to microscope photo tube)
Program mode
1/4 sec. @ f/2.8 ISO 100
Meiji EMZ-13TR Stereo Zoom Microscope
6VDC Halogen illuminator, built in, w/blue diffuser
I suppose we all know what these are and what they are used for but for those who want a simple explaination and do not know, they are nothing but photo-receptors, reacting to light brightness or intensity and contrasts around or in the vicinity of the insect...I think :-k

Mid underside of the critter, thousands if not more, tiny pores abound over the chitinous body or exoskeleton. Right center there appears to be a light amber substance oozing from one of the pores. Could be a sealant of sorts, I don't really know, only guessing.

Considering what you have put this guy through, maybe it is nervous sweat coming out of the pores? Nice shots.
