Marine nauplii and ?

Post by Charles Krebs »

I had a jar on the table from a salt water sampling just taken. A very large number of small nauplii had gathered together toward the window light. I collected a couple drops and took pictures while they swam around in every direction and depth. One shot made an interesting pattern.

Don't know what critter that is in the second, darkfield shot. :smt017

Hello. Very nice photos; the second photo I ignore what is.

But in the first photo it is nauplius, in effect.

Hello Charles,

nice pictures! I like very much the picture from the nauplii because it has a very strong graphical effect. I would be happy to know what objective (4x ?)
you have used.
The second pictures shows a Bristlworm from the class of Polychaetae, but I dont know the species.

Thanks!

Franz... yes, the upper shot was with the 4X objective. (Lower brightfield was 10X objective).

Hello Charlie,
I like the first photo very much because of its strong graphic effect.
What kind of 4 x objective have you used - achromat or planachromat ?
Regards
Marek
