living radiolarians (Acantharea)

This are living Radiolarians from the class Acantharea. I dont know the species.

wow, Franz, wonderful images of these very rare subjects !
Did you find them in "ordinary" coastal plankton ?

Hello Gerd,

thank you very much.
I found them in "ordinary" coastal plancton, but... As the radiolarians like the open sea I took my samples on the end of the pier (very near to the open sea). I find radiolarians specially after days with a strong wind. The Acantharea are the most commons. Other (more sophisticated) radiolarians are rarer.
