My 1st "through the microscope".

Olympus BHS, 20x D Plan Achromatic, NFK 2.5 Photo eyepiece.
Nikon D90, sensor width 23.6 mm, built-in 100w halogen lamp, Krebs' technique for SLR on microscope.
Top: full frame, Desmid is 0.36 mm long.
Bottom: selection.

(should have had a grey background)

Welcome to the microscope section.

Nice closterium shot. But not sure what you mean by "(should have had a grey background)" ... don't you want a nice white background for brightfield?
