Hypotrichia ciliates

Post by Jean-marc »

Hello,

I take some pics of what I suppose to be Spiretella and Stylonychia.

Aristoplan with Planapo 20/0,75
Interferential contrast
electronic flash 1/1000e
coolpix 995
length : 200µm

Image

PL fluor 40/0,85
Interferential contrast
electronic flash 1/250e
length : 200µm

Best regards

JM

Hello

Ohh¡¡ the first ciliate is very rare ¡

Beautiful photographies. Do I believe that the second photo is, in effect, Euplotes (patella??); but I do not know the first ciliate

Hello Jean Marc.

Observing it now, in effect, this ciliate can be stylonychia pustulata but I have doubts with euplotes

Can't say for sure but the last two images I think, are Oxytricha and in the process of binary fission. :)

Jean-marc,

I've only seen the first subject here a few times myself. Best picture I've seen of this species.
