late Autumn Aphids

Seems like these aphids just don`t want to go away. These were on a dried up Milkweed seed pod. I dont know what they were sucking out of it! Seems like they were just waiting to swell up and turn black like some of the other ones did. Nice Autumn colors

Huh! Must be something about milkweeds and aphids.

The ones out here in Washington State looked just like yours, last fall. See here and here.

Do you have any of the "shells" that the wasps make?

Pretty neat shot there Doug, I have found them as late as early winter on Goldenrod but not very many of them.

How puzzling!

Perhaps it's time to "point and grunt". (That's a highly technical phrase I use a lot, when describing effective communication methods.
