Specular Hematite...

From the same location as the 'kidney ore', Florence Mine, Cumbria. This is what is known as specular hematite...


Image is 4mm wide.

Must be HEMATITE WEEK!

Looking at these mineral posts makes one wonder about the molecular processes involved in bringing about specimens such as these. Interesting thing to ponder, thanks Steve. :D

Look at the blades and shine on that specimen. Very nice Steve. Is that in with Quartz crystals?
