White Crysanthemum

Post by Cyclops »

Nothing spectacular, just some white crysanths that our daughter brought home for mommy the other day.
I used a Helios 58mm lens held in front of the camera lens to act as a +20 close up lens, or thereabouts!

You just put it in front of your phone camera? No holder? Well, seems it works. :D

Yes, I use that method a lot, and often get very sharp images, if the light is good(it wasnt this time!)

An example:

Yes Lobivia is a cactus. I keep a few and oher succulents.
Lobivia is named after its home, Bolivia in south America(an anagram) tho they are more often called Echinopsis now, which is a boring name compared to Lobivia i think!

I think I had one Echinopsis that bloomed only at night and very shortly. Nice big white flower like an old gramphone tube. :D

Yes thats the traditional Echinopsis, with a short fat body.
That name has been around for a long time too but then they decided that Lobivia were Echinopsis too and so lumped them together. I still use the old name,Lobivia.
