Colorful Caterpillar

Post by Ken Ramos »

Sometimes the 60mm macro is like shooting through a microscope when you get too close and the DOF really gets tight, even if you do stop down the lens a bit. You can tell where the focal plane of the lens resides in this photograph but any port in a storm and any photo for a post for me it seems.

Image

EOS 350D
1/200 sec. @ f/6.3 ISO 100
Canon 430EX Speedlite
Canon 60mm f/2.8 Macro

Some may wonder why I use my 350D so much instead of the 20D which I first purchased. Weight is the biggest reason, the 350D is much lighter and easier to hold steady in my hand. I am considering putting the 20D on my Axiostar Plus microscope. :-k

I'm carrying my Olympus SP-320 and/or 720 SW in the pocket.

Thanks Nikola. :D One really must look for these things or so it seems. I have found my last couple of subjects while looking at and searching for lichens of all things. It is impressive what you have accomplished with those small cameras. I have even considered purchasing one but then I have my Canons... Thanks again Nikola :D

Great photo Ken...The DOF is right where it is supposed to be IMO. Nice cloths on the creature.
