Nice shot, I suspect you are correct and this is indeed the parent of your nymphs.

You captured this guy-gal very nicely. Great composition and the background is very nice. I love the shape of the ones that look like thorns

Thanks guys. I had a photograph of one of these here a while back, that had spectacular colors. It was an Oak Tree Hopper though.
