I just took a closer look at this lovely photo, and it sure looks to me like this butterfly has a mostly uncurled proboscis.

Jody, did you happen to catch this one just taking off from a flower?

I think you might be right Rik. Judging by wings and body position I was thinking about landing or soar. Now I prefer soar. :D

oh DROOL! it's not clear from the website if that's a full frame sensor or not though. hrm, dig dig dig...

Nope, not full frame, 1.7X conversion factor http://dcresource.com/news/newsitem.php?id=3404

impressive set of features, particularly the 3 layer sensor. very nice.
