Coming in for a landing

Last year we had a very good desert rainy season and things were blooimng like mad esp the Creosote bush Larrea tridentata. As you can guess it was a magnet for nectar feeders.
I was lucky enough after much trial and error to get this series of a couple of feeding bees. I had to shoot from a distance of about 6 feet and zoom as these bees were very skittish and fast.

Target in sight.

Very good. What a series. Bees in flight are hard, but you got these down.

The first one made me chuckle

it just made me make that sound you make when you imitate an airplane as a kid

The first one reminds me of that big bug in the first part of Lilo and Stitch, when Stitch is brought before the alien counsel for evaluation. I love that cartoon movie, there was something in it for everyone. Especially if you like Elvis.
