Mixed Shots part 3

Post by Hatch1921 »

A few more shots to share. :)

All 3 extension tubes+1.4xTc on he 100mm macro for this shot. So small... hard to describe. This tiny spider was making meals out of the ants around the and hill. Neat to see the attack unfold.

I like how the flash reflected off the wings to create the spectrum.

Sorry for the small images... most of my shots posted on Flickr are over 1000px wide... so... have to use the medium sized shots.

THanks for looking.

Your pictures are beautiful!

It would be nice to have links to high-res versions also -- no matter where they are hosted. :D

Incredible focus on the in-flight miners bee -- what technique did you use?

PS. "miners bee"? "miner bee" seems to be a lot more common...

Wow! Large versions are great.

Thank you all for the kind words.

The bee shot was with the 70-200L IS...hand-held with the 20mm extension tube on. Just a luck shot more than anything... the bee would dart in and out near my orange tree... I noticed a little pattern it was flying...got lucky.

Thank you all again.

Well looks like everyone has already voiced my opinions there Hatch. In-flight insects are always more interesting I think and you did a good job on the bee and also in the other miner bee post. Great photographs, thanks :D
