Amanita muscaria "Fly Agaric" Mushroom

Post by beetleman »

Found this classic shot on my walk to work today. Not much up on mushroom ID but it is not the common Red toadstool.
Amanita muscaria Var. americana or guessowii Maybe?

Hi Dave, very nice link, thank you. I took a look at another shot of the mushrooms and it does show some orange in the center, so it very well could be var. formosa. I didn`t run into that link when I was looking for an ID  Thanks again.

I've always liked shrooms, but they are usually in areas which make getting the shot tough, yours are no exception. Good job.
