Grasshopper cycle

Post by gslaten »

On 9/2 I noticed this small green grasshopper in a plant in the courtyard. Today I had another look and was surprised to find he had made a few changes. A quick Google search indicates the grasshopper has 3 stages in it's life cycle....egg, nymph and adult. The nymph stage has no wings but the adult has wings and can fly. I tried to get the adult to pose a bit better, but he became annoyed and left :( .

Thanks Beetleman> I thought the contrast between the stages was interesting.
