Fungus & Lichen

Post by beetleman »

Theses pictures are of a tree I pass by going to work which is not in very great shape. It has a large dead section on the trunk and a lot of these fungi are growing on the bark all around the tree. The first picture is a stack of 10 pictures I combined (Helicon Focus) to get a better DOF and a closer look at the fantastic textures all around this shelf mushroom. The other two are just normal fungi group shots

Glad you are enjoying the tote Doug. All of these are great shots showing the ecosystem of the lichens are fungi, however, I like the last two the best. Quite an interesting group. Thanks Doug. :D

Hey Doug. (Thanks for the kind comments on my posts btw)

Nature is amazing. If you were to take these shots in a dark environment, you could easily mistake them for cave formations! Nice photos, great subject.

Very nice. Prime time for fungi is coming up in the Northern Hemisphere....Subjects I always mean to shoot more of, but never follow through on. Congrats on following through!
