Hi there,

I have been trying for quite some time and about 20 minutes ago I got a couple I liked. I think they are 2 different species. Shot with my Canon 100mm macro lens.

Comments and Critacism most welcome.

Bees and flowers always works.

Do not know about bees but let me guess about plant Family/Genus. Lavender Lamiaceae/Lavandula on first and myrtle Myrtaceae/? on second photograph?

I don't know whether its a myrtle but the lavender definately.

Both shots are very nice Darren....I love that dark purple bee. I have seen metallic green bees & purple wasps, but not a purple bee. Nice find
