Three Very "HAIRY" Cats

Post by beetleman »

More from August 2007. I have no Idea what they turn into. All I know is, "if I was A bird, I sure would not eat them"

The first is a Tussock moth caterpillar I believe there Doug and the last a buck thorn moth cat of some type or species, though I cannot be sure of that. The one in the middle, beats me. Reminds me of a tent wing though but I will not even guess that, that is what it is. :D

A nice collection, Doug!
That first one reminds me of the first punks I saw, as a kid in London in the 80ies. I was very impressed! :D

Geez, I feel old. I was close to wrapping up a career in the Navy back then. I visited London around 86, I think. Took a train from Portsmouth. :D

Beautiful pics of some very cute caterpillars Doug. :) I love the first one, it reminds me of a brush I have in the bathroom.

Ken,

What is a buck thorn moth? Is that a species that specializes in feeding on buck thorn? I am not familiar with that group.
