fungi

was out hiking and found this under a rotting yucca log, surprised me because it havent seen much fungal activity for years its been a real drought until lately. know you guys like these fungi shots maybe you can help with ID.

A very interesting fungi Jordan. Sorry, No help on an ID here. I love the ridges.

thanks beetleman. theres not much fungi around our parts until lately with the rains. last year was the worst drought in a long time so i got deprived of fungi. also a very bad year for taking soil fungi samples.

Not really up on mushrooms. Seems as though they could be some type of polypore but I cannot be sure.

haha thanks everyone. i figured it was a shoot in the dark with the millions if not multi billion species of fungi on the planet.

Possibly somewhere around Cantherellus or Pleurotus but there are lots of genera out there.

Fungi are irresistible yet really hard to ID,and they can be so variable.
