Lovely pic Doug. The second one looks nice with the rain / dew drops. Is the third some kind of assasin bug? It look like a nasty lttle fellow. :)

The third is a sort of tiger beetle - they are ferocious predators, quite difficult to get close to as (unusually for larger beetles in my experience) they take off and fly away when you get near them...

Thanks everyone. These were taken with my older Canon PowerShot S1 IS. I received the 400D for Christmas :wink:
Yep, the third one is a Tiger Beetle. I believe This is Cicindela Duodecimguttata--12-spotted tiger beetle. They are very hard to sneak up on usually. That is why he is facing away from me. I think I followed him for so long, I tired him out :D
