Parasitic mite identification

Post by acerola »

I have some parasitic mite picture. They are interesting to view. Almost beautiful. One picture is about a harvestmen and the other is about a dragonfly. Could any of you give me a more specific identification as just mites?

Beautiful photos. For the dragonfly, 3 families of parasitic mites
(Hydrachnida) are found on dragonflies with at least 1 genus in each family:
Arrenuridae - Arrenurus spp.
Hydryphantidae - Hydraphantes spp.
Limnocharidae - Limnochares spp.

WOW, that is incredible  and creepy at the same time. Talk about being infested. Excellent photos Peter.
